Everyone has a story. This is mine...

I grew up in the Foothills of Western North Carolina, which means I’m not quite that mythical Asheville-native unicorn, but I’m pretty darn close.

It also means I drop the “g” off every verb, am addicted to thank you notes and know that “Bless your heart” is the most useful phrase in the English language.

Heartfelt empathy, softened rejection, or outright disgust—all in three little words? Even the Germans couldn’t come up with that (bless their hearts).

I’ve loved words for as long as I can remember (and am pretty sure my creative heckling skills were the only reason I made the high school softball team)…

I’m a mother, avid reader, researcher and lover of stalking airbnb properties I’ll probably never go to. Online, not in real life. I don’t have any active restraining orders.

What does any of this have to do with your business?

Well, to stand out in the sea of other competitors, you need a website with clear, concise content and marketing collateral that matches.

Your brand needs to resonate and connect with others in an authentic way. The right words make that happen.

Whether you need words to fill that shiny new website, editing for what’s already there, a new marketing game plan or fresh social media strategy, I’m your girl.

I can help your business reach people with clarity & connection, so you can resonate and shine. Translation: all the sales without all the sales-y!

Words are where the magic begins. Let’s get started!

Since you (*wink-wink) asked…

Favorite book?

To Kill a Mockingbird.

Harper Lee deftly nails time and place, the South, and what it means to be human.

Favorite Music?

Old time favorites are Neil Young, Blue Oyster Cult, Nina Simone, Sam Cooke, Black Sabbath, The Allman Brothers.

Newer discoveries I’m loving are Kurt Vile, Khruangbin, Leon Bridges, Michael Kiwanuka, Nihls Frahm, Big Thief, so many more that aren’t coming to mind.

Travel bucket list?

My daughter laughs that I come home from one vacation and immediately start planning the next. It’s true and I call it a healthy coping mechanism.

Currently I’m obsessed with visiting Daufuskie Island, SC and can’t wait to get back to Maine—the most magical state in the union.

Favorite Meal?

It’s borderline ridiculous how excited I get picking up my CSA veggie box (and any holds at the library).

I love the challenge of taking some gnarly looking new vegetable and turning it into something good, whether pairing it with a fat steak or staying puritanical and vegetarian.

The best meal I’ve had in a long time (that I didn’t have to cook—bonus) was at Five and Ten in Athens, GA. It was an experience.

Marketing/Writing Inspiration?

I love Donald Miller’s Storybrand concepts, Writing Without Bullshit by Josh Bernoff, Brene Brown, anything by Seth Godin, and Nicely Said by Kate Kiefer Lee and Nicole Fenton, among many, many others.

But mostly, meeting creative people doing creative things and hearing their stories.

Favorite Quote?

I have always kept little scribbled notes around me, but one lasting favorite that always makes me smile:

“Sloppy, raggedy-assed old life. I love it. I never want to die.” —Dennis Trudell
